What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Lol what's the point. I'd tell you to be honest and at least TRY to care about people. But there's no point. Your callousness is pathological. You'll never change. The writing's been on the wall for years.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Huh? I guess the benefits were pretty good. Full health insurance premiums paid, stuff like that. But at what cost?
What did you not like about this institution?
Every single stereotype you've ever heard about toxic law firms is here, and in spades. Some offices are better than others, but on the whole, it's a glorified personal injury defense mill. There are self-insured clients that don't nitpicking your billing, which is nice, but literally everything else sucks. Many of the partners' personal lives are in shambles, so they live to work, and expect everyone else to do the same.
It's just a shady place full of gaslighting, manipulation, and (sometimes) outright verbal abuse. The goalposts change every 3 days, and the leadership will switch positions on an internal issue without even blinking. And the pay sucks for the (ever-changing) "perfection" they expect. Don't bother. And if you go ahead and interview, don't buy anything they say. They've mastered the elevator pitch. Just ask about their abysmal turnover (we're talking 20ish people in the last 2 years) and see how they react. That should tell you everything you need to know.
If you make the mistake of joining the firm, at least do yourself the favor of getting out before it all comes crashing down and your license/reputation falls with it.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Pretty much all of them. Even the nice ones are a mess when it comes to managing cases and mentoring people.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Big cases, high stakes, good experience. But again: at what cost?
