Overview

Discover the Excitement of Working at Eaton Peabody: A Maine Law Firm with a Rich History and a Bright Future Eaton Peabody, founded in 1917 by George F. Eaton, is a renowned law firm that has earned its reputation as one of Maine's most respected legal practices. With a focus on civil and business law, Eaton Peabody has been the go-to firm for clients seeking expert advice in northern and eastern Maine for over a century. The firm's story began when George F. Eaton, a brilliant business lawyer, established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Bangor. In 1937, he was joined by George F. Peabody, and together they formed the law partnership of Eaton & Peabody. This partnership quickly flourished, solidifying Eaton Peabody's position as the firm of choice for businesses in the region. As the firm continued to grow, Merrill "Pappy" Bradford and Arnold Veague joined in the 1940s, leading to the renaming of the firm to Eaton, Peabody, Bradford & Veague. This expansion allowed Eaton Peabody to broaden its expertise and provide comprehensive legal services to clients across Maine. In 1977, Eaton Peabody moved to its current location on Exchange Street, marking a new chapter in the firm's history. Today, Eaton Peabody boasts a team of over 50 lawyers spread across five locations, ensuring that clients receive top-notch legal representation no matter where they are in the state. Recognizing the changing landscape of the legal industry, Eaton Peabody took a bold step in the late 1990s by establishing the Eaton Peabody Consulting Group (EPCG). This move allowed the firm to offer a wider range of services to clients, going beyond traditional legal advice to include economic development strategies and consulting services. With the creation of EPCG, Eaton Peabody solidified its position as a comprehensive legal and business resource for clients throughout Maine and beyond. Joining Eaton Peabody comes with a host of benefits for attorneys and staff alike. The firm's rich history and reputation provide a strong foundation for professional growth and development.
