What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Due to the fact that things are not as fast paced in Hawaii I would encourage associates to learn new areas of law. I think that it would help all the attorneys at the firm if we had to do some cross training.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
It's located in Hawaii so there is some good weather to go with the work. I found myself doing a lot of interesting work for the firm and was able to get help when I needed it. The paralegals were very helpful and dedicated to their jobs. I found that the support staff was top notch.
What did you not like about this institution?
While I liked Hawaii, the firm does not get the level of work that one would on the mainland. Things move at a slightly slower pace I found. I was under pressure but it was never the crushing kind.

Summer Associate Program
Summer associates work in as many practice areas, and directly with as many of our attorneys as possible. Although a Goodsill summer associate's primary exposure to the practice of law will be research and writing assignments, we give summer associates the opportunity, when feasible, to attend legal proceedings, such as trials, hearings and depositions, and to attend negotiating and planning sessions and client meetings. Summer associates are encouraged to attend the firm's regular in-house training and seminar programs for attorneys. Our program is structured to provide summer associates with feedback on their work from the attorneys who have given the assignments. There are also a variety of informal social activities to further acquaint summer associates with the attorneys of the firm.
