Discover the Thrilling World of Serkland Law Firm: Where Legal Excellence Meets Excitement When it comes to law firms, Serkland Law Firm stands head and shoulders above the rest. With a rich history dating back to 1888, this prestigious firm has been at the forefront of the legal profession for over a century. From its humble beginnings in Sheldon, North Dakota, to its current location in Fargo, Serkland Law Firm has consistently delivered exceptional legal services to its clients. The firm was founded by two visionary partners, Edmund Pierce and B.G. Tenneson, who recognized the potential of Fargo as a legal hub and relocated the office there in 1903. However, it was Chester J. Serkland, a distinguished lawyer and Navy veteran, who truly left an indelible mark on the firm. After joining Cupler, Stambaugh & Tenneson in 1946, Serkland's exceptional legal acumen and unwavering dedication led to the firm being renamed in his honor in 1999. Throughout its illustrious history, Serkland Law Firm has seen several of its former shareholders embark on remarkable careers within the legal profession. Lynn U. Stambaugh, one of the firm's early pioneers, was appointed as the director of the United States Export-Import Bank in Washington, D.C. in 1945. James E. Leahy, another esteemed former shareholder, became a trust officer and later a professor of law at California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, where he authored numerous books on the United States Supreme Court and the United States Constitution. Lawrence A. Leclerc, Jr., yet another former shareholder, was appointed as a District Court Judge for the East Central Judicial District of North Dakota by Governor Arthur Link in 1979. Lastly, Paul F. Richard, a former shareholder, went on to become legal counsel for MeritCare Health System (now known as Sanford Health) and eventually became the President of Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
