Environmental Finance - Tax Credit Project Manager / Underwriter

Full-time position with . Bank in Saint Louis, MO, New York, NY, or Denver, CO

Salary range: $126, - $149, - $164,

Overview:

. Bank is seeking a skilled Project Manager (PM) to join their team of environmental finance professionals. This role will involve underwriting, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex renewable energy investments and related products, primarily in the solar, wind, and battery storage systems industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, credit underwriting, and project finance transactions, as well as a passion for promoting diversity and equitable access to renewable energy.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare high-quality underwriting packages for proposed equity investments, including thorough analysis of transaction risks and mitigating factors.
- Manage third party professionals, such as attorneys, accountants, consultants, and engineers.
- Proactively identify and address project issues and uncertainties, advocating for the bank's position with customers and sponsors.
- Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate underwriting and credit approval processes, as well as the execution of new investment requests.
- Review legal documents and third-party reports to support financing requests, working with teammates to mitigate risks.
- Analyze financial models and identify potential underwriting and cash flow risks.
- Participate in special projects, including maintaining and revising internal policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience, or MBA/JD with 5+ years of directly related experience.
- Knowledge of financial modeling techniques and analysis of proforma financial statements.
- Strong credit underwriting and financial analysis skills, including experience with complex, structured transactions and due diligence.
- Familiarity with project finance transactions and legal documentation.
- Understanding of . energy markets and renewable energy project underwriting.
- Ability to review and synthesize a large quantity of deal-related documentation and identify key issues and concerns.
- Familiarity with standard banking processes and procedures.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and equitable access to renewable energy.
