Overview of Social Services Attorney I Position
The **** is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Social Services Attorney I to join the Health and Human Services Department. The Social Services Attorney I will provide legal advice and guidance to the agency and its programs, and will be responsible for researching and interpreting state and federal laws, court decisions, administrative rules, legal forms and proposed legislation.
The Social Services Attorney I will report to the Attorney General and will be responsible for drafting various legal documents as well as providing legal advice, analysis and guidance. Job Requirements
The successful candidate for the Social Services Attorney I position must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited school of law and have passed the Nebraska Bar exam. The candidate must have strong communication and critical thinking skills and be able to conduct legal research, interpret and apply applicable law, provide detailed analyses and articulate applicable law and arguments. The Social Services Attorney I must also be able to draft various correspondence, motions, pleadings, orders, memoranda, contracts and other legal documents for administrative hearings and other program needs.
