Job Summary:

Goodwin's Global Operations Team is seeking an experienced, senior Client Development Leader with deep ecosystem relationships within the life sciences sector. This individual will partner with firm leadership to drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and position Goodwin as the go-to law firm for life sciences companies, investors, and industry stakeholders. The Director will shape and execute business development strategy, oversee high-impact initiatives, and develop marketing materials to elevate Goodwin's position in the industry. Responsibilities:

- Shape strategic growth plans and oversee high-impact initiatives in collaboration with LS business leaders and practice management
- Leverage deep industry relationships to expand the firm's market presence
- Monitor industry trends and share relevant information to inform business development strategy
- Oversee development of high-quality marketing materials to elevate Goodwin's position in the life sciences industry
- Drive strategic marketing campaigns and brand presence in line with LS practice growth objectives
- Develop and oversee long-term engagement programs and implement scalable frameworks and processes to support growth objectives
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of business development professionals
- Foster a collaborative, high-impact team culture and manage the LS budget
- Support the integration of lateral partners and collaborate with internal teams to enhance data-driven decision-making
- Partner with firmwide CD leaders to share insights and best practices
- Support cross-practice collaboration to position Goodwin as the premier firm for life sciences companies

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of client development experience, preferably within an AmLaw 100 firm or professional services organization
- Proven track record in developing and executing high-impact business development strategies in the biotech, pharma, or healthcare investment space
- Prior experience leading and managing a business development team
- Strong leadership presence and the ability to influence at all levels
- Deep life sciences industry relationships and credibility within the sector
- Exceptional team management skills and an analytical mindset
- Excellent executive communication skills and a results-driven, strategic mindset
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and accountability in a matrixed organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and experience with CRM systems
- In-office culture with 3 days per week in the office and travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
