Senior Claims Counsel - Financial Institutions/Public D&O:
- Full-time position
- Location: Multiple locations in the USA
- Job requisition ID: R-5430
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience required
- Responsible for handling approximately 75 high severity D&O and E&O claims
- Primarily focuses on claims under policies issued to Public Companies and Financial Institutions
- Collaborates with internal business partners
- Mentors junior team members
- Provides technical guidance and oversight
- Develops and presents training
- Represents CNA at industry conferences

Responsibilities:
- Handles complex, high severity financial lines claims
- Drafts coverage letters, memos, and reports
- Represents CNA in settlement negotiations
- Interacts with multiple parties
- Directs and manages coverage counsel and litigation
- Partners with underwriters, product counsel, and actuary
- Meets with brokers and clients
- Provides technical guidance and oversight
- Develops and presents training
- Represents CNA at industry conferences

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with JD
- Admission to the bar in at least one state
- Minimum 12 years of claims and/or legal experience
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software

Salary:
- In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of compensation
- National base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually
- Salary determinations based on relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location
