Executive Claim Examiner - Job Summary:
- Full-time position with hybrid working schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote
- Responsible for resolution of high complexity and high exposure claims
- Significant decision-making authority and ability to work autonomously within authority limits
- Confirms coverage of claims, analyzes coverage and communicates positions
- Conducts and directs investigations into loss facts and damages
- Directs and monitors assignments to experts and outside counsel
- Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine exposure
- Sets reserves or makes recommendations to manager
- Negotiates and settles claims
- Prepares reports and adheres to Fair Claims Practices regulations
- Assists in training and mentoring of specialists
- Serves as technical resource to subordinates and others in the organization
- Reviews and approves correspondence, reports, and authority requests
- Participates in special projects and represents company at external panels and industry forums
- Coordinates loss information for senior business stakeholders and presents at monthly/quarterly meetings
- Contributes to maintenance of claims guidelines and procedures
- Delivers construction claims technical training
- Ensures effective vendor and litigation management
- Assists manager with duties as needed
Executive Claim Examiner - Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred
- Must have or be eligible to receive claims adjuster license
- Successful achievement of industry designations or management training
- Minimum of 10 years of claims handling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience handling high exposure construction bodily injury and property damage claims
- Market leading specialist knowledge within casualty construction lines
- Expert policy language skills
- Experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitrations
- Experience in conducting technical claims audits
- Ability to manage claims outside of local jurisdiction
- Strong senior stakeholder management experience
- Ability to influence claims stakeholders and direct strategy
- Ability to lead within a team environment
- Strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
- Strong desire for continuous improvement
Executive Claim Examiner - Pay Information:
- Base salary based on job-relevant factors such as education, experience, and location
- National average salary for this position is $111,240 - $151,680 with 25% bonus potential
