Responsibilities:
- Independently represent Insured parties in assigned court cases and present defense strategies
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues and conduct thorough research
- Prepare pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies
- Attend and handle all activities related to full trial and/or appeals
- Provide effective and timely communication and legal advice to clients and claims professionals
- Use independent judgment, research, and analytical skills to develop defense strategies
- Assist in developing training materials and presenting seminars for the Claim Department
- Work on special projects related to the practice or line of business as needed
- Communicate with the Court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and clients in a professional manner
- Responsible for the prompt and effective disposition of assigned cases
- May supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support their professional development
- Keep current with market trends and demands and attend continuing legal education seminars
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- State Bar licensed attorney with 11+ years of relevant practice group litigation experience
- Knowledge of State laws, local court policies and procedures
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Experience with supervision and development of more junior attorneys
Preferred:
- Multi-state Bar admittance
- Experience with Team Connect legal software and dictation
- Managerial experience of a litigation group
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this role is $150K - $185K per year
- Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics
- This range may be modified in the future
