Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $187,000 – $223,000 if located in Illinois. Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Director, Data Governance Role at Law Firm in Chicago
- Develop and implement data governance strategies to maintain data quality, privacy, and security
- Oversee creation and maintenance of metadata standards and data catalog system
- Ensure adherence to data-related regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align data governance with firm goals
- Resolve data-related issues and mitigate risks
- Lead initiatives to monitor and improve data quality and accuracy across all business units
- Design data governance operating models and align with process and analytics initiatives
- Collaborate with department leaders and senior leadership for planning and execution
- Hire, develop, and supervise team members and conduct performance reviews
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in data governance or related roles, including 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, regulatory compliance, and data privacy practices
- Experience with large-scale data governance projects and initiatives
- Master's degree preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills required
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
