Job Title: Sr. Specialist Legal Editor, Labor & Employment

Job Responsibilities:
The Sr. Specialist Legal Editor is responsible for creating online content designed to assist labor and employment lawyers in their practice. The key duties include:
- Researching, writing, editing, publishing, and updating online content for labor and employment subscribers, including practice guidance notes, checklists, and standard forms.
- Collaborating with other editors on the Labor & Employment Service to review and organize content, as well as planning for future content needs.
- Coordinating with other editorial teams on content planning and creation.
- Establishing relationships with labor and employment law specialists to contribute new content.
- Writing and editing content for the companion print magazine, Practical Law - The Journal.
- Staying informed on current developments in labor and employment law to ensure timely updates to content.
- Developing relationships with practitioners to ensure content relevance.
- Organizing and conducting webinars on topics of interest to labor and employment lawyers.
- Assisting with sales demonstrations and marketing initiatives.
- Supporting other Thomson Reuters products where Practical Law is foundational.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess:
- A Juris Doctor degree.
- At least eight years of experience practicing labor and employment law.
- A sophisticated understanding of the needs and priorities of labor and employment lawyers, with employment litigation experience, particularly recent experience.
- Experience in drafting labor and employment agreements and policies.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Enthusiasm, ambition, and a genuine desire to improve legal services efficiency.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others.
- A passion for writing, with strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and excellent command of grammar and plain English.
- Expertise in areas such as wage and hour litigation, labor union representation, employment-related due diligence in M&A transactions, workers' compensation issues, unemployment compensation issues, and/or federal contractor issues is a plus.
- Candidates selected for a second interview must submit a writing sample.

Salary Information:
The base compensation range for this role varies by location. Eligible office locations include New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, McLean, Washington, DC, and others. The compensation range for these locations is $134,680 - $250,120. For other eligible US locations, the range is $116,900 - $217,100. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is determined based on knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration for internal equity. It forms part of a comprehensive Total Reward program, including flexible benefits and wellbeing programs.
