Law Firm Seeking Business Personal Property Specialist in Chicago, Illinois
Flanagan Bilton, a national law firm, is currently looking for a Business Personal Property Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $75,000 per year and a hybrid working schedule for 2024. The specialist will be responsible for collecting and analyzing business financial and personal property data, as well as managing the filing and appeal processes for business personal property returns. The ideal candidate will have previous business personal property experience, a strong analytical background, and a minimum undergraduate GPA of on a scale.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for business personal property assessment statutes and administrative rules
- Review and file business personal property returns
- Manage filing and appeal processes for returns
- Perform various analyses for clients, such as tax projections and annual budgets
- Communicate return and appeal status to clients and review/discuss their needs
- Present and negotiate returns and appeals with assessing jurisdictions
- Communicate and promote the firm's services to potential clients
- Review and approve invoices

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary of $75,000 per year
- 3-2 hybrid working schedule for 2024
- 120 hours of PTO after 90-day probation period

The Business Personal Property Specialist will also have the opportunity to work with clients in various jurisdictions throughout the United States and present and negotiate returns and appeals with assessing jurisdictions. This is an in-office position with office hours of Monday through Friday, 9 . to 5 .
