Law Firm Seeking Experienced Labor and Employment Associate in Detroit or Troy
Are you a skilled labor and employment associate looking for a new opportunity? Look no further than our law firm, where we are currently seeking an experienced associate to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside partner-level attorneys, gaining valuable experience and advancing your career in the field of employment law.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and high-quality legal research
- Assist with all areas of discovery, including drafting requests and responses, preparing initial disclosures, and witness preparation
- Prepare legal briefs and other pleadings
- Collaborate with partner-level attorneys on document production and selection of vendors
- Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges
- Handle various aspects of employment-related litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations, and depositions
- Prepare trial materials
- Attend and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings
Skills and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in employment-related litigation and client counseling
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience in managing discovery and taking and defending depositions
- Proficiency in using online legal research services and resources such as Westlaw
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in traditional labor matters is a plus
Education and Licensing:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited law school
- Admitted to the Michigan State Bar, or eligible to promptly become admitted
