Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in the Workers' Compensation Section is responsible for representing the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio in various legal proceedings. The primary responsibilities include:
- Managing a high-volume caseload effectively.
- Conducting settlement evaluations and negotiations.
- Engaging in motion practice and discovery, including written and depositions.
- Appearing in trial and appellate courts, including the Ohio Supreme Court.
- Occasionally participating in administrative hearings.
- Writing appellate briefs and practicing oral advocacy.
- Adhering to a hybrid work schedule, balancing in-person and remote work, with potential adjustments based on training and operational needs.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, as per Section of the Ohio Revised Code.
- A minimum of two years of experience working as an Attorney is preferred.
