The bureau is responsible for handling complex investigations and litigation, with a focus on reproductive rights, gun violence prevention, police reform, and cases involving government fraud and corruption. The Assistant Attorney General will be responsible for all aspects of assigned cases, including investigations, pleadings, court appearances, and representing the interests of the People of the State of Illinois.
Qualifications for this position include at least 2 years of litigation experience and a license to practice law in the State of Illinois. A strong candidate will also have a demonstrated commitment to public service work, sound judgment, excellent research and writing skills, and preferably a judicial clerkship or complex litigation experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and litigate assigned cases, including preparing investigative memoranda, pleadings, and discovery
- Represent the interests of the People of the State of Illinois in court appearances, witness interviews, depositions, mediations, and settlements
- Collaborate with state and federal agencies and litigate in state and federal courts
- Provide litigation support to other bureaus and participate in legislative review and initiatives
- Demonstrate a commitment to public service work and maintain sound judgment
- Utilize excellent research and writing skills
- Have a license to practice law in the State of Illinois and at least 2 years of litigation experience
