**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., formerly known as Facebook, is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate General Counsel to join their legal team and lead the product compliance and regulatory strategy for WhatsApp. This full-time position is available in multiple locations, including Los Angeles, CA, Menlo Park, CA, Seattle, WA, and New York, NY.
As Associate General Counsel, you will be responsible for applying complex legal frameworks to new and innovative products and services, working closely with cross-functional teams and advising on product risks in a rapidly-evolving legal and regulatory landscape. You will also oversee outside counsel relationships and lead communication and policy development efforts with public policy and communications colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders
- Oversee outside counsel relationships
- Lead across and coordinate with public policy and communications colleagues on external communication, policy development, and enforcement decisions
- Directly set the strategy and vision for advising and partnering with business teams
- Directly manage client relationships with business leaders
Qualifications:
- . Degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- 8+ years of legal experience
- Experience working independently and cross-functionally
- Experience prioritizing work and providing advice in a fast-paced environment
- Proven problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior in-house experience at a technology company, preferably with a focus on monetizing consumer and business services
- Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms
- Experience in a product counseling role, building and supporting products
- Privacy experience, including familiarity with international data protection frameworks

Salary and Benefits:
