Overview:
- **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, is currently seeking a Business Controls Manager for their Corporate Functions team, specifically Finance and Accounting.
- This role will work closely with other teams across the organization to identify risks, design controls, and monitor their effectiveness.
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8-10 years of experience in project management and the financial services industry.
- This position offers a starting base salary of $111,408 - $189,738 per year, with potential for bonuses and commissions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with first and second line teams to coordinate risk management and testing activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Finance and Accounting division, identifying and quantifying risks and their associated controls.
- Develop and implement processes to test and report on the performance of risk mitigating controls.
- Provide recommendations for remediation plans and assist with their implementation.
- Communicate regularly with senior management and other risk management functions.
- Define and report performance metrics and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to monitor high risks to the business unit.
- Interface with Internal Audit and Regulators as necessary.
- Ensure ethical and integrity in providing all City National products and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience.
- Minimum 8-10 years within or related to the financial services industry.
- MBA, JD, or other advanced degree preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of financial services and project management.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to handle complexity and uncertainty.
