KPMG is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Manager for our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a Senior Manager at KPMG, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work with multi-state companies to provide state and local tax services including compliance, advising, planning, structuring, and controversies
- Utilize your expertise and industry knowledge to help internal and external clients with their tax needs
- Review state income tax returns and assist with state tax controversies
- Collaborate with audit teams to review and analyze state tax-related income and balance sheet items
- Build and manage client relationships and supervise, mentor, and develop staff
In addition, as a Senior Manager, you will also have the opportunity to:
- Team up with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and contribute to the growth of the KPMG tax practice
To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of recent experience in tax research, preparing/reviewing state income tax returns for corporate entities, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, or any other approved designation/credential from KPMG's list (if not currently held, must be obtained within one year of employment)
- Exceptional writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax research skills
- Ability to foster relationships with both internal and external clients
- Desire to work in a high-energy team environment
For the Senior Manager role, you must also have:
- Minimum of eight years of recent experience in tax research, reviewing state income tax returns, and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams delivering state and local income tax compliance and/or consulting services
