Job Title: Internship Program, Fall - Florida Attorney General's Internship Program
Job Responsibilities:
- Interns will gain practical experience in a legal field by working on meaningful projects that contribute towards the completion of their law degree.
- Interns may be placed in various divisions, including Antitrust, Consumer Protection, Criminal and Capital Appeals, Civil Litigation, Complex Litigation, Civil Legal Services, Child Support Enforcement, Revenue Litigation, Ethics, Lemon Law Arbitration, Medicaid Fraud Control, Statewide Prosecution, Cyber Fraud Enforcement, and the Office of the Solicitor General.
- Specific responsibilities may include assisting with civil investigations and litigation, enforcing state and federal laws, representing the state in criminal appeals, providing legal counsel, and participating in high-impact litigation.
- Interns are expected to work on tasks that might involve legal research, drafting legal documents, supporting attorneys in court proceedings, and engaging in joint enforcement efforts with other state and federal agencies.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship program is open to students enrolled in an accredited ABA law school.
- Internships are unpaid and are offered for academic credit or through participation in law school-sponsored programs such as Pro Bono Programs, Law School sponsored clinics, or Law School Paid Stipend programs.
- Law students seeking academic credit or those participating in school-sponsored programs must provide documentation of eligibility.
- Students must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week or a period as prescribed by their college or school.
- 2nd and 3rd year law students are expected to provide a writing sample during the interview process if selected.
Salary Information:
- The internship is unpaid; however, students may receive academic credit or participate in law school-sponsored stipend programs.

- Required documents include an internship application, résumé, letter from an advisor or university, and an official transcript (unofficial transcripts are accepted initially).
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and students are encouraged to apply early.

Legal Terminology and Requirements:
- Interns will not be compensated for their work or be eligible for benefits, except for Worker’s Compensation benefits.
- A preliminary background screening, including a criminal background check, is required.
- Interns must report any adult criminal history information, regardless of whether records have been sealed or expunged.
- The Office of the Attorney General reserves the right to investigate any information provided by the applicant, and any falsifications may lead to disqualification or release from the program.
