Associate Director of Communications - Law Firm - Atlanta, Chicago
Position Overview
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate global communications strategy for BCLP - Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner
- Responsible for raising profile of firm and its experts through media relations and reputation management strategies
- Collaborate with Director of Global Marketing and Communications, Global CMO, and BCLP leadership team
- Enhance reputation and awareness of firm's services and capabilities through internal and external communication efforts
- Lead strategically and engage in operational activities
- Develop relationships with Practice Group, Business Services, and country leadership
- Drive innovation and motivate colleagues to deliver great work
Responsibilities
- Develop global communications strategy for internal and external communications
- Lead strategic communications planning and execution to support business activities and objectives
- Act as crisis and reputation management lead for the firm
- Oversee best practices in delivery and creation of communications assets
- Provide leadership and guidance on global and local market opportunities and challenges
- Develop consistent global communications processes and procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand issues and develop messaging for client-facing communications
- Manage budget and expenses accurately and in a timely manner
- Be a role model for communications team and lead with assertiveness and expertise
Essential Job Specifications/Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record of excellence in managing global and integrated external and internal communications for a complex global organization
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and adapting as global communications team scales up
- Able to influence senior leaders and present a point of view regarding positioning of BCLP in competitive landscape
- Proactive and able to handle stressful situations, prioritize multiple demands, and transition easily between tasks
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience developing communications strategies and proving effectiveness of channels
- Transatlantic experience preferred
- Ability to work varying hours as part of a global team
Supervisory Responsibility
- Direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Education/Experience/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience
- Minimum ten years of marketing experience preferred
- Legal or professional services industry experience preferred
