POSITION SUMMARY:

- Provides legal counsel and services to protect the legal rights of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and ensure compliance with laws and hospital policies.
- Manages legal affairs within the necessary legal limits prescribed by law.
- Ensures that all legal matters are handled with competence and in accordance with hospital policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

- Completion of a program of study (. or .) at an accredited law school.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

- Must be a member in good standing of the state bar (the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers), or eligible to be admitted.

EXPERIENCE:

- At least 3 years (post-bar) of varied legal experience, with emphasis on healthcare research-related issues preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to a healthcare environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Familiarity with healthcare research, including FDA, DHHS, MDPH, NIH, and current regulatory environment.
- Strong analytical ability to provide legal services and advice on a wide range of legal issues.
- Experience drafting legal documents and negotiating contracts and settlements.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with senior managers, physicians, and outside lawyers.
- Ability to instruct employees on various legal issues.
