A solid understanding of drafting and negotiating commercial leases, as well as experience in the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of commercial properties is required.
In addition, experience in representing franchisees, including reviewing and negotiating franchise agreements, renewals, and transfers, is highly preferred. The candidate should also have experience in asset acquisition and general corporate tasks.
The chosen candidate will have excellent academic credentials, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. They will also have the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys who will provide mentorship and support for their career development.
The salary range for this position is $185,000-$230,000, depending on experience and other relevant factors.
Responsibilities for this role may include:
- Representing clients in commercial real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, and financing
- Negotiating and drafting commercial lease agreements
- Advising clients on franchise and distribution matters
- Reviewing and negotiating franchise agreements, renewals, and transfers
- Assisting with asset acquisitions and general corporate tasks
- Conducting legal research and providing legal advice to clients
- Collaborating with other attorneys and staff members on various projects
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar in the location of the desired office (Massachusetts, New York, or Connecticut)
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial real estate matters
- Strong understanding of commercial leasing, franchise and distribution, and general corporate real estate
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial lease agreements
- Familiarity with asset acquisition and general corporate tasks
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
