Paralegal IV Supporting the US Attorney's Office: A Vital Role in the Fight Against Crime

As a Paralegal IV, you will play a critical role in the Asset Forfeiture Section at the USAO, responsible for prosecuting criminal and civil actions against property obtained through illegal activity. You will work closely with attorneys, government officials, and clients to provide legal support and ensure that all work meets contract and attorney requirements.
Requirements:
Before applying for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a US citizen
- Pass financial, criminal, education, and work background checks for Public Trust Security Access
- Possess a Paralegal Certificate
- Have supervisory experience
- Be familiar with a variety of computer applications
- Have at least three years of paralegal experience, including trial-related experience and knowledge of legal systems and research procedures.
Daily Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal IV, you will report to the Contractor's Project Director or Operations Supervisor and have significant contact with government officials and clients. Your duties will include:
- Assisting attorneys with legal clerk and paralegal tasks
- Directing and supervising the work of other paralegals and contractors
- Monitoring progress and ensuring work is delivered on time
- Troubleshooting and performing quality control checks
- Conducting complex legal research
- Designing and implementing systems for managing case files and materials
- Coordinating expert witnesses for trials.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytic ability, and a thorough knowledge of legal research tools. You should also be able to work well under tight deadlines and handle competing priorities.
