Paralegal - litigation The candidate must have familiarity with drafting pleadings, handling service of process, application for default judgment, drafting motions, and discovery. Will work closely with attorneys and assist with the management of litigation for the firm. Prior experience with and knowledge of State and Federal Court Rules. An understanding of general litigation procedures and processes, including Court/Judicial preferences and filing requirements/deadlines. Familiarity with e-filing systems and the submission of pleadings for State and Federal Courts. Ability to format court filings and other documents. Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel), Document Management systems, Electronic Timekeeping applications. Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet necessary deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Ability to handle assignments and workload independently. Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly to keep the client informed of the status of matters via e-mail and telephone. Maintain accurate records in both client systems interface and firm system of record. Exceptional organizational skills including superior attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required. Flexible and reliable, you work well both independently as well as part of a team
