Our Business Tax Services (“BTS”) practice is seeking a Tax Senior to join our Sustainability, Climate and Equity: Renewable Energy practice. This role provides tax services to renewable energy clients that develop, build, own, and operate renewable energy projects, such as wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, biomass, and fuel cell projects. Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on tax issues related to renewable energy clients and projects
- Identify opportunities and advise clients on potential benefits and eligibility requirements related to investment tax credits, production tax credits, carbon capture tax credits, and clean hydrogen tax credits
- Prepare tax returns and provide advisory services related to renewable energy tax equity structures
- Maintain and develop strong internal and client relationships
- Monitor current and proposed tax legislation and regulations related to renewable energy and sustainability
- Collaborate with other Deloitte member firms to execute work streams such as valuation studies, tax equity modeling, and life cycle assessment studies
- Identify potential issues and propose solutions to leadership
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and present potential opportunities to assist clients
- Provide support with various internal initiatives and special tax-related projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, business administration, economics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a related field
- Ability to travel up to 25% on average
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Active CPA, licensed attorney, or enrolled agent
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment
- Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new solutions
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA or law firm experience preferred
Compensation:
The wage range for this role takes into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, and certifications. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for location differentials. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on individual circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $63,420 to $144,300.
