The Senior Privacy Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for Amazon's Alexa and Ring products. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of US federal regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies such as the FTC. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent writing and project management skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. This is a cross-functional role that will involve collaborating with various teams within Amazon, including engineering, legal, and marketing, to ensure that privacy incidents are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
* Maintaining and improving Amazon's comprehensive privacy program
* Applying relevant laws and regulations to business use cases
* Ensuring business ownership and completion of regulatory requirements
* Identifying and resolving privacy incidents
* Preparing risk reports for senior executives and regulators
* Responding to privacy-related inquiries from external parties
* Monitoring privacy regulations and industry best practices
* Conducting post-mortem analysis of incidents and suggesting improvements
* Assessing and monitoring the implementation of regulatory requirements
Requirements:
* 6+ years of experience in privacy, security, legal, compliance, policy, or risk management
* Experience working with US federal regulators, specifically the FTC
* Excellent writing, critical thinking, and project management skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred qualifications:
* 6+ years of privacy compliance experience
* International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certification
* Experience working for a technology company
* Juris Doctor or Master's degree
Salary information:
* Base pay ranges from $122,100/year to $201,400/year, depending on geographic market and experience level
* Total compensation package may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits
