BDO is seeking a highly motivated Tax Manager, Customs & International Trade to join our growing team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in import/export trade consulting. This role will also require strong analytical skills, the ability to manage a team, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities for this role include assisting clients and BDO client service teams in developing ideas and structures to optimize tax positions, researching and providing advice on international trade matters, and identifying opportunities for tax savings for clients. The Tax Manager will also be responsible for managing client expectations and mentoring junior team members.

This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement and a competitive salary range of $79,800 - $168,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Key Responsibilities:

- Develop ideas and structures to optimize tax positions for clients

- Conduct internal training sessions
- Build and maintain relationships with clients
- Collaborate with other firm specialists and client service teams

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Juris Doctorate, LLM, and/or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in import/export trade consulting
- CPA and/or JD preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with tax research tools
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
