The Corporate Counsel, Real Estate position at Amazon is an exciting opportunity for a experienced commercial real estate lawyer to join a rapidly growing and dynamic company. As part of the AWS legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting AWS's worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions, leases, and serviced licenses. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including equity and sign-on payments, and the opportunity to work with a diverse and inclusive team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Structure, draft, and negotiate a variety of real estate transactional documents, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and development agreements
- Provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis
- Manage outside counsel and advise internal business clients
- Develop and implement process improvements across the team
- Resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships
- Handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience drafting and negotiating real estate transactional documents
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines
- Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills
- Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Salary Information:

- Base pay ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market
- Pay is based on factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
- Total compensation package may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation
- Full range of medical, financial, and other benefits offered

Experience Information:

- 5+ years of legal experience
- Mix of corporate law firm and in-house work preferred

Education Information:

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Location Information:

- Position is available in various US geographic markets, including VA, WA, CA, and NY
