Summary:
As the Associate Director of Corporate Counsel, you will provide legal expertise and support across all business functions within Pacira. This includes managing the contracting function, providing legal counsel on healthcare laws, and working closely with cross-functional teams to support the business. You will also potentially supervise and direct the activities of paralegals and outside counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing the contracting function for various departments within the company
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements
- Partner with business departments to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Provide legal counsel on healthcare laws and regulations
- Work closely with other legal and compliance professionals to mitigate risk for the company
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support clinical trials
- Potentially supervise and direct paralegals and outside counsel
- Other ad hoc analysis and projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the . State Bar or eligible to obtain a . limited license for in-house counsel
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a major law firm or in-house, preferably in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry
- Knowledge of . legal requirements related to the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong understanding of federal and state laws, regulations, and industry codes
- Experience drafting and negotiating various contracts and agreements
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office
