Law Firm is seeking a Knowledge Management Counsel with experience in Mergers & Acquisitions/Private Equity to support their . practice. This role will work closely with the Global Director of Knowledge Management and other key stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that enhance knowledge management for the firm's M&A/PE practice. The ideal candidate will have a . and at least 5 years of experience in both private equity and strategic M&A, with prior knowledge management and process management experience highly preferred. Strong leadership and project management skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, are also essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the M&A/PE KM Committee and practice group to assess needs and develop a strategy for enhancing knowledge management.
- Coordinate with the KM Department to implement solutions and best practices in line with the KM strategy.
- Lead development and maintenance of key KM resources for the M&A/PE practice group.
- Serve as a source of legal expertise for attorneys in the practice group, providing training on technology and KM best practices.
- Monitor legal developments in M&A/PE and identify topics for training and know-how meetings.
- Provide direct support to individual attorneys in locating practice-related KM resources.
- Identify opportunities to enhance legal services delivery and assist in evaluating and adopting legal technology.
- Communicate and consult with key stakeholders on practice content, efficiency, and client solutions.
- Create and maintain standard forms, precedents, checklists, and other substantive content for the practice group.
- Identify and organize a collection of high-quality work product for the practice group in relevant databases.
- Promote user adoption and feedback for KM resources.
- Review transaction information and make recommendations for template form changes and improvements.
- Participate in department and practice group meetings to share best practices and knowledge.
- Attend external training and conferences to stay current with relevant developments.
- Coordinate with other support groups and departments to improve processes and communications.
Qualifications:
- . and at least 5 years of experience in private equity and strategic M&A in a law firm.
- Prior knowledge management and process management experience highly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant M&A/private equity legal practices and documents.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Professional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the firm.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in training and best practices.
- Problem-solving abilities, including technical and collaborative situations.
- Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence technologies preferred.
- Experience with iManage, Litera/Workshare, Foundation, and Lexis Search Advantage desirable.
Salary Information:
The actual salary offered will depend on several factors, including qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location. The salary range for this position is $250,000-$300,000 in New York and $200,000-$250,000 in Washington, DC.
