Civil Litigation/Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney The candidate will build a corporate practice and support existing and new clients. Should be willing to work on Illinois medical malpractice and general civil litigation matters. Will have comprehensive legal coverage in the areas of Business Law, Civil Litigation, and Workers' Compensation defense. Will be responsible for taking depositions of the plaintiffs and other parties; conducting discovery; performing legal research; remaining current with developments in the law; drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents; appearing in court to cover motions and case management conferences and retention of expert witnesses.

The candidate must be a Civil Associate Attorney, licensed in Illinois, with a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, 3+ years of experience and possible portable billings, or the willingness to market and develop their own practice area. A Missouri license is a plus. Must have knowledge of substantive and procedural law. Should have strong written and oral advocacy skills; superior interpersonal skills; client development skills; analytical and logical reasoning abilities and the ability to synthesize complex legal and factual materials. Must also have the ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Must have excellent negotiation skills.
