The Maryland Judiciary is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to fill the position of Law Clerk (Continuous Job Opening) in various locations throughout the state. This is a full-time, at-will position with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package. The Law Clerk will provide legal support to a Judge and perform various duties based on the level of the court, including District Court, Circuit Court, Appellate Court of Maryland, and Supreme Court of Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school and prior legal writing experience.
Position: Law Clerk (Continuous Job Opening)
Location: Various locations throughout Maryland
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and level of court
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and provide up-to-date information to the Judge
- Review motions and court files, and draft memoranda
- Attend court proceedings as requested by the Judge
- Triage and deliver chamber's work to the Judge
- Compose orders and memoranda
- Perform various duties based on the level of the court
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Prior legal writing experience preferred
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and court procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to perform legal research and read and understand law-related materials
- Ability to apply policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws as required
