Job Summary:
As an Insurance Defense Trial Attorney at Farmers, you will be responsible for providing competent and ethical representation to clients in various tort cases. This virtual position primarily handles cases in Los Angeles County and offers a comprehensive benefits package including an annual bonus potential, generous 401k, auto allowance, PTO, medical/dental/vision, and much more.
Essential Job Functions:
- Handle cases involving moderate to severe injuries and/or damages
- Prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Attend hearings, conferences, interviews, trials, or arbitrations
- Consult with Claims Departments on insurance policy and legal questions
- Keep supervisor informed of work and any problems encountered
- Maintain and update computerized litigation support systems
- Functionally supervise other attorneys as needed
Physical Actions and Environment:
This job may require carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds, as well as hearing, seeing, standing, and walking. The majority of work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment, with some exposure to outside conditions and travel.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree
- Law school degree
- Member in good standing of the State Bar in the state of employment
- Minimum of 3 years as an Attorney
- Civil jury trial experience or equivalent dispositive ADR experience
- Ability to handle cases of moderate to great exposure and/or complexity with minimal supervision

- Ability to handle high case loads in adversarial or confrontational situations
