Job Description:
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Felony Trial Assistant District Attorney for their Domestic Violence Bureau. This role involves prosecuting felony domestic violence cases and working closely with victims of domestic violence. The Bureau takes an innovative, evidence-based approach to finding a balance between accountability for abusers and safety for victims.
The Queens Domestic Violence Bureau is located in the Queens Family Justice Center, along with other agencies dedicated to ending domestic and gender-based violence. The Bureau handles a range of domestic violence crimes, including Attempted Murder, Stalking, Assault, Arson, Burglary, and Criminal Contempt.
As a felony trial assistant, you will be responsible for representing the District Attorney at Supreme Court arraignments, pre-trial hearings, and bench and jury trials. This role also involves engaging in motion practice, complying with discovery obligations, and negotiating dispositions.
Preferred applicants should have at least 3 years of experience as a prosecutor, substantial trial experience, and familiarity with the rules of evidence. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $96,000 to $114,675.
