Job Responsibilities
The General Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the General Liability Practice at the law firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case management, motion practice, and discovery.
- Handling hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
- Representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts as well as administrative proceedings.
- Defending and litigating medical malpractice lawsuits, which is preferred but not mandatory.
- Collaborating with a team of over 600 attorneys nationwide, specializing in representing defendants in significant exposure cases across various general liability areas.
- Providing defense for property and personal injury claims for both businesses and individuals, whether insured or self-insured.
- Excelling in the litigation and trial of catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex litigation cases.
- Working alongside seasoned and well-respected trial attorneys with broad trial experience.
Education and Experience Information
- Candidates must have at least two (2) to seven (7) years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
- Experience in case management, motion practice, discovery, and handling hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials is required.
- Experience representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings is necessary.
- Defending and litigating medical malpractice lawsuits is preferred.
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar is required.
- While insurance defense experience is preferred, candidates with substantive litigation experience in any arena are encouraged to apply.
