The Department of State’s Attorneys and Sheriffs in Vermont is currently hiring a Limited-Service Deputy State’s Attorney for multiple counties. This is a full-time position with benefits and a salary range of to based on experience and admission to the Vermont Bar. The DSA will have the opportunity to work on criminal and certain civil cases, manage their own caseload, and collaborate with coworkers and other partners to achieve positive outcomes in the justice system.

Responsibilities of the Limited-Service Deputy State’s Attorney include:

• Prosecuting criminal and certain civil offenses
• Effectively managing caseload
• Working with coworkers, law enforcement, community agencies, and other partners
• Pursuing best practices and innovative approaches in the justice system
• Meeting deadlines and handling workload pressures
• Availability for work outside of normal schedule with private means of transportation

Minimum qualifications for this role include a . degree and admission to the Vermont Bar. Applicants who have read the law in Vermont and been admitted to the bar are also eligible to apply. Candidates with courtroom and jury trial experience will be given preference.
