A law firm in Rochester, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Recovery, Counseling & Litigation team. This role involves assisting policyholder clients with complex insurance coverage disputes, securing carrier participation in defense and settlement claims, and maximizing insurance recoveries. The position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of insurance coverage matters with a supportive and collaborative legal team.

Duties:
Analyze and review insurance policies across various coverage areas, including general liability, excess/umbrella, professional liability, cyber, property, and construction insurance.
Assist clients in resolving insurance coverage disputes and securing participation from carriers in claims settlements.
Litigate insurance coverage disputes on behalf of policyholders.
Draft and review contractual indemnity and insurance provisions.
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions related to insurance recovery cases.
Advise clients on risk management strategies related to insurance policies and coverage issues.
Collaborate with legal teams to develop case strategies and maximize client recoveries.
Requirements:
1-5 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation or related legal fields.
Previous experience representing policyholders in insurance coverage matters is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage issues, construction insurance coverage, and litigation processes is a plus.
Strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.
Skills:
Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to handle complex legal issues and develop case strategies.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
