Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Paralegal to join our team. This position is a hybrid role, focusing on both design and utility patent applications in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent prosecution and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain patent files, including preparing formal documents for filing such as abstracts, drawings, and amendments.
- Review incoming correspondence from foreign associates and maintain docket of due dates for patent applications.
- Assist with ongoing procedural aspects of prosecution and prepare cost estimates as needed.
- Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient workflow and establish quality control measures.
- Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of on-the-job experience with . patent prosecution filing.
- Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines under supervision of an attorney.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with advanced computer software and ability to effectively use and maintain a computer database.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group.
- High level of mental effort and attention to detail.
- Ability to occasionally work more than hours per week and adapt to irregular hours.
