Job Summary:
As an Assistant General Counsel in Special Contracts Marketing, you will utilize your advanced legal knowledge to support internal clients and partners in all aspects of marketing contractual and advisory matters. You will handle a substantial volume of complex legal matters with minimal supervision and provide ad hoc work direction to other legal staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to attorneys within the Legal Department and other lines of business.
- Assess legal risk and provide advice on routine matters, as well as assist in resolving legal problems.
- Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and case law developments related to the company and the banking industry.
- Prepare and review routine documents, represent the company in transactions and litigation, and perform legal research and analysis.
- Develop a specialization in a specific area to support the company's lines of business.
- Serve as an individual contributor and provide work direction to other legal staff on active cases or projects.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-bar experience in a law firm or corporate setting, with a focus on providing legal support on marketing contractual and advisory matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload, meet deadlines, and handle stress effectively.
- Team-oriented mentality and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or related training in the financial services industry.
- Previous experience in a corporate legal department and/or positions of advancing responsibility.
- Educational focus on business or finance.
- Comfortable working in a large, complex corporation.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time, regular position with minimal travel requirements.
