The General Counsel will be responsible for guiding, directing, and coordinating select legal-related functions for the Bank while projecting a professional image. This full-time position requires a graduate degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience with increasing levels of responsibility. The successful candidate will also need to obtain membership to the Oklahoma Bar Association and possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma Drivers License.
H2: Essential Functions of the General Counsel
- Provide consultation and expert legal advice to resolve significant matters for the Bank in coordination with Executive Management.
- Review, examine, and evaluate Legal Department work for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the Legal Department, including providing feedback and guidance regarding laws, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and train new and existing Legal Department staff members.
- Represent the Bank in court or before government agencies as required.
- Argue motions and meet with judges or other legal counsel during the course of a case.
- Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for the Bank.
- Prepare legal documents in state and federal courts.
- Assist the Special Asset Committee with asset management.
- Advise select internal departments on legal matters as directed by Executive Management.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on special and complex matters on a limited basis.
H2: Qualifications for the General Counsel
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited university.
