Job Summary:

Nixon Peabody, a leading law firm, is seeking a Trust Operations Manager to join our Private Clients department in Boston, MA. This role will be responsible for handling complex reporting and special projects for our trust and estate clients, providing technical leadership, and implementing process improvements. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement data requirements for Trustees, Director of Trust Operations, and other NPTC teams
- Serve as expert report developer, utilizing BI tools to design and develop new reports for ad hoc requests and new reporting requirements
- Administer trust accounting system, assist clients with system-related inquiries, and troubleshoot issues in partnership with vendor
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot complex issues for other Operations team members
- Explore trust system data to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends
- Provide expert guidance on client trustee fees and maintain deep knowledge of trust accounting system
- Backup daily balancing functions and processing of transactions as needed
- Provide technical support and data analysis for new system implementations and upgrades
- Lead conversions and collaborate with Director of Trust Operations on planning and implementation
- Develop and implement new procedures and documents to improve efficiency
- Act as point of escalation and monitor reported issues
- Oversee strategies for process improvements and serve as a subject matter expert for trust account system and other key software
- Implement new interfaces and maintain account eligibility for system interfaces
- Monitor industry trends regarding fraud controls and implement latest control measures
- Build and maintain relationships with other departments
- Manage production of specialized client and management reports and queries
- Review daily overnight reporting from trust system and address any issues
- Attend industry and vendor conferences as needed
- Stay up-to-date on investment and tax issues, trust industry trends, and various software solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

- 8-10 years of trust operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Trust Law or Wealth Management
- Preferred advanced designations such as CSOP or CTOP
- Strong understanding of securities processing and trust banking or brokerage industry
- Working knowledge of trust accounting systems, trust operations, and trust administration
- Broad knowledge of trust and estate administration, fiduciary taxation, fiduciary laws and regulations, estate planning, and investment management
- Strong computer proficiency and excellent mathematical and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage strict deadlines

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows:

- Boston, MA: $121,749 to $180,749

In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on factors such as work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications.
