Job Description:
Chubb Insurance is seeking an Environmental Claim Director to join their Environmental Claims team. The team specializes in handling first-party and third-party voluntary pollution claims and is part of Chubb Environmental Claims. As a Claim Director, you will report directly to an AVP of Environmental Claims and be part of Chubb Casualty North America Claims.
Responsibilities for this role include developing and executing claim resolution strategies, recognizing potential exposures, providing exceptional service to internal and external partners, analyzing and identifying coverage issues, and setting reserves within authority or making claim recommendations. The role may also require travel to conferences, mediations, and trials, ranging from 0% to 10%, with the possibility of more depending on business needs.
Qualifications for this role include in-depth knowledge of environmental and casualty, 2-5 years of direct claims handling experience, and an ability to work independently. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, along with decision-making abilities, are necessary for this role. A law degree is not required but recommended. If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.
