Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the law firm, including administrative tasks and support for the legal team
- Organize case files, maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, and manage logistics
- Draft and proofread legal documents and correspondence, and conduct legal research to assist with case preparation
- Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions
- Manage client billing and resolve any billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney
- Maintain and organize documents in paper or electronic filing systems
- Continuously improve administrative processes for more efficient workflow
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, with preference for an associate's degree in paralegal studies or a bachelor's degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Experience in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Premises, or other injury-related practice areas preferred
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and communication skills, with proficiency in calendar depositions, mediation, and hearings
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, documentation, and court rules
- Highly organized with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
