Job Description:

- Serve as Empowered Official
- Make jurisdiction and classification decisions (ECCN, USML Category, Schedule B)
- Handle ITAR and EAR license applications and DOE authorizations
- Coordinate exports and imports
- Conduct investigations and internal audits
- Handle self-disclosures
- Conduct Restricted Party Screens
- Maintain export related record keeping functions
- Travel as needed
- Conduct export training for employees
- Work collaboratively with employees and Naval Reactors

Required Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one state of operation (NY, PA, or ID)
- Active membership in good standing of the bar in at least one state of operation
- 3 years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission export regulations
- DOE M&O experience
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
- Advanced working knowledge of ITAR and EAR
- Ability to research, analyze and interpret . and international trade regulations and laws
- Experience with export control and compliance applications, licensing, voluntary disclosures, audits, and compliance programs
- Experience filing Electronic Export Information (EEI) in the Automated Export System (AES) and coordinating with freight forwarders/customs brokers for export clearance purposes
