BakerHostetler, a top-ranked law firm with over 1,000 attorneys across 18 offices, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Practice Group Manager for their Business Group. This role is a key strategic position, working closely with the Practice Group Chair and other stakeholders to drive operational efficiency, strategic execution, and overall growth of the practice group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in operations, project management, or practice management, preferably in a law firm setting with a focus on transactional law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, execution, and tracking of strategic initiatives, goals, and long-term plans for the practice group.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth execution of client services, case management, and internal processes.
- Produce reporting and analytics to inform leadership on trends related to talent management, financial performance, and business development efforts.
- Act as a primary point of contact and liaison between the Practice Group Chair and internal/external stakeholders.
- Manage and coordinate large-scale projects, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are efficiently allocated.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support business development and client relationship activities.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
- Oversee budget planning and financial operations within the practice group.
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required; MBA or Advanced Law Degree strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in operations, project management, practice management, or similar roles in a legal, professional services, or consulting environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Project management expertise with a focus on strategic execution.
- Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data.
