Job Description:
As a Legal Counsel focused on Patents, Raw Materials, and Innovation, you will play a critical role in protecting and enhancing **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s intellectual property. This position requires collaboration, innovation, and proactive legal strategies to support the company's growth and secure its future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal guidance to business teams, particularly in the areas of intellectual property, patent law, and litigation.
- Collaborate and educate Raw Materials Innovation and Product Research and Innovation teams on IP matters while offering creative solutions to drive business goals.
- Independently draft patents and manage external counsel to protect innovations in raw materials and product development.
- Oversee the innovation identification and registration program for raw materials and product innovation.
- Offer guidance on contract matters and facilitate negotiations with innovation partners.
- Design and implement patent clearance programs, risk tracking, and IP policies to support innovation initiatives.
- Conduct patent risk analysis and advise on related risks.
- Develop and refine clearance processes, policies, and patent protocols.
Qualifications:
- . or .; Member of the Bar in at least one . or Canadian jurisdiction.
- Registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with the . Patent and Trademark Office or Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
- Minimum 6 years practicing law, preferably with experience in patents, commercial innovation, and raw materials.
- Expertise in patent law and commercial agreements, with knowledge in areas such as raw materials, apparel, or chemistry.
- Experience in innovation management is an asset.
