Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize legal knowledge and management skills in the administration and coordination of legal risk management activities for the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)
- Responsible for moderate complexity tasks with minimal supervision
- Investigate facts, review legal documents, and perform legal research
- Design, maintain, and manage FIU workflow processes, reports, tools, and databases
- Interact with other departments, internal and external clients, and outside counsel on a professional level
- Maintain applicable continuing legal education requirements and observe ethical standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and training, successful completion of an American Bar Association approved paralegal training program, certification by a State Bar approved paralegal certification program, or equivalent working knowledge and experience
- Five years of experience working on moderately complex legal matters in a law firm or corporate law department, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Superior communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with deadlines
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and online legal research
