Estate Planning Paralegal The candidate will assist attorneys in drafting, revising, and finalizing trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents. Prepare deeds and other real property transfer documents. Perform trust administration tasks, includ plan the trust administration steps, taking inventory of all assets and liabilities, prepare trust accountings, etc. Prepare probate filings. General management of case files. Frequently handle in-person and telephone communications with clients. Perform research as directed by attorneys. Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisor. Time tracking of billable hours. Enter data and utilize client/legal management platforms.

The candidate should have 2+ years of recent experience with all aspects of estate planning, trust administration, and probate. Must have extensive experience with drafting legal documents including, trusts, amendments to revocable trusts, wills, trust certifications, durable powers of attorney, advanced health care directives, probate filings and petitions, deeds, ancillary documents, etc. Must have experience with estate planning software. Must have experience with the cloud-based client and legal management platforms. Must be extremely detail-oriented, highly organized, critical about the accuracy of spelling and grammar, and possess the ability to prioritize and follow up. Must have the ability to work and contribute in a team environment, take directions, follow instructions, and follow through with assignments. Must have the ability to juggle multiple activities and work well despite interruptions, and the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically. Must be cooperative, courteous, and patient with clients, demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team. Must be proficient in reading and writing English, be proficient in Word, Excel, email, PDF editing, etc. California Notary Public commission is preferred.
