Position: Senior Counsel - Regulatory

Key Responsibilities:
- Represent and advise AEP’s operating companies in administrative litigation and related appeals to civil courts.
- Conduct legal research, motion practice, discovery, commenting on proposed rules, and drafting testimony and legislation.
- Provide legal advice to management and other company personnel regarding all aspects of public utility regulation.
- Coordinate and implement regulatory strategies.
- Assist in the development of relationships with state regulatory and enforcement agencies.
- Deliver timely advice on regulatory compliance matters.
- Draft and review marketing material, internal audit and compliance policies, and other business-related documentation.
- Manage regulatory proceedings and collaborate with business unit leadership, employees, regulators, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements:
- . degree and eligibility to practice in Texas.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong understanding of regulatory environment and legal issues related to electric utilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to various constituencies in a positive and proactive manner.
- Organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented.

Compensation:
- Senior Counsel (Grade 10): $132,562 - $172,333
- Senior Counsel (Grade 11): $155,761 - $202,491

Travel:
- Expected to be approximately 10-15% to other locations within AEP System.
